Vacation Reflections
It's funny how you live your life and don't stop to think what's next? (At least not really think about it)
During my vacation I learned several things. One being that I didn't really grasp how much I really do each day until my friend pointed it out. She said that working, doing school, and writing a book was her idea of me doing great.
I thought about it, and thought about it. She was right in a way, I am doing great because I am doing several things at once which not everyone can do or is willing to. But as I thought about it more, I also began to realize that I am moving fast. Starting my job at my current employer in the fall of 2013 and just now moved onto another position. Published 3 books last year and started school last fall.
Yeah, great accomplishments but to me that's still not enough. I am not where I want to be. There's still so much more I want to do and if I think about it, I will probably stress out which is what I do when there's a lot on my plate (or at least I think there is).
While I was taking a bath, (favorite place to think clearly) I realized that I am always in a hurry. During my vacation, everything I did was as if I was in a hurry and was going to be late for something which I really wasn't but I could not help it.
The one thing that I definitely didn't get to do was relax. Come to think of it, there just didn't seem to be any time to relax which is absurd (I know, I'm not working) but still, running around Orlando and going from park to park each day was exhausting to my mind and body.
I will miss this place though and I'm happy that my kids got to see it and enjoy it. But I am ready to go back to real life and face everything that is waiting for me back home, work, school work and book stuff.
It has been a break, definitely. Hopefully on my two weeks vacation coming up in the fall I can plan some kind of relaxing time. Who knows?
My advise to you is to take it easy, work hard, play hard but don't over do it.
In the end it is you who is living your life.
Ask yourself, "am I satisfied?"

Describe yourself what is your worst and best quality?
My worst quality is judging a book by its cover. I typically do this with people and is something I have been working on but you know, it takes time.
What is the one thing you wish other people knew about you?
I sunburn easily! Ugh, it’s so hard to tan.
What is your biggest secret something no one knows about?
Hmm… well, there’s a lot of things people don’t know about me. Like for example… I don’t like children. There, I said it! I just wouldn’t know how to take care of one and they are so whiny.
What are you most afraid of?
Spiders! I hate those creepy crawly things.
What do you want more than anything?
More than anything? I want to own my own company someday. Maybe a boutique…
What is your relationship status?
I was dating this guy… well, it turns out his ex-girlfriend is pregnant with his baby! Can you believe that? Yeah, not happening. So now I’m single.
How would you describe your sense of fashion?
I like fashion to an extent. Like I said I want to own my own boutique but it will be clothing that is suited more for people that like casual yet with a twist. Not New York Style, this will be Jackie’s style.
How much of a rebel are you?
Big time rebel.
What do you considered to be your greatest achievement?
As of this moment, owning my own place. For a twenty one year old, I have to say it’s pretty impressive.
What is your idea of happiness?
Having a peaceful relationship, being surrounded by great friends and living life to the fullest.
What is your current state of mind?
I’m not sure. Ha ha ha!
What is your most treasured possession?
My car.
What is your most marked characteristic?
Independency.
What is it that you, most dislike?
Rude people.
Which living person do you, most despise?
I don’t despise anyone right now. There’s people that I don’t really like but I wouldn’t say I despise them.
What is your greatest regret?
Not being able to say goodbye to my mother.
What is the quality you most like in a man?
Honesty.
What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Loyalty.
Who is your favorite hero in fiction?
Harry Potter!
Which living person do you most admire?
Nobody. Living people are boring!
If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
My skin, sometimes I feel like it’s too sensitive and that’s why it’s hard to tan.
What is your motto?
Rock on!

BookwormBridgette's World: BLOG TOUR: Wildest Dreams by Stefany Rattles GUEST...
I was eighteen when I first decided that I wanted to write a book. This was after reading the whole Twilight series and yes I was part of the vampire crazed fans, in a way still am. Of course after reading that series I moved on to another, then another and soon I had a notebook where I wrote down all of the books that I’d read over a year.
There was a pattern, there were a few authors that I liked and ended up reading most of their books. Stephenie Meyer was one of the first ones, simply because I am a fan of the books. After her came Richelle Mead and to this day she is my favorite author. I’ve read almost all of her series and I can honestly say that she inspired me to write.
Even though my first book has not been published (it may never be), it was a young adult paranormal book that was about super heroes. After that I realized that it was not really what I wanted to write about and decided that I wanted to tell a vampire story. That’s when Dark Night, my first YA series was created.
For the longest time after I was done writing it, it sat on my computer for years. By the time that I’d read so many books, I realized that Dark Night needed to be published. Finally in early 2014, I took a chance and put out the first book in the series and later in the year I released the sequel.
In the end I think all of the books that I’ve read have inspired me to keep writing even though it began with teenage vampires, now I really enjoy romance. There will always be a place in my heart for the Dark Night series but I am really looking forward to seeing how the Sweet Dreams series goes. On top of reading paranormal and romance books, I mainly let the scenery and people around me inspire me to write. Whether that is just by having a conversation with a friend or people watching, there is always something out there that will give me the inspiration I need to tell a good story.

Upcoming Blog Tour & Other News
It's been a while since I've posted anything but there's a lot that has been going on in the past month.
First off, I'm going on vacation the first week of March so the most I'll be doing is probably posting vacation pictures and such on Facebook & Twitter, just FYI.
But before I go on vacation I am going to have a blog tour for a week. Starting on February 23rd and ending on March 2nd. I will post links and such on here so everyone can check it out. Plus there will be a free book promo for Kindle and a paperback giveaway. Check out my website for more info!
Also, I am trying to finish editing for Bloodthirst: Dark Night Volume 2 but again, everything has been hectic and it threw off my original schedule. There will be updates on that as soon as it is completed.
I'm currently working on several projects that I'm excited about! Stay tuned by following me on Twitter, Facebook or even message me, I will write back!
PS.- Ready for Florida vacation! ;) -S.R.

Thank You Fans!
This is more of a thank you note than
anything else. I just wanted to say how thankful I am for the support I have
been getting from friends, family, fans (I HAVE FANS!!! SO EXCITING!), and
other authors. It is truly amazing that I have so many awesome people
surrounding me.
Yesterday this lady messaged me on my Facebook page to
ask about the sequel in one of my series. I had to re-read the message twice
because I was like: “Really? You really liked my book enough to ask about the second
one?” Omg! It was really a great moment and I know that there’s authors out
there that probably don’t have time to write their many fans back and thank
them for their support. But I wrote her back to let her know that the sequel
will be available soon.
I think keeping in touch with fans/audience is key and
very important to build a relationship with readers and have those readers
follow you from the first book to the very last.
So thank you so much to all of you who have bought,
borrowed, shared, received a free copy of my books and have read them. You have
no idea how much it means to me that someone likes these stories that I have
been working on developing every day.
You fans are what gives us writers a purpose.
You are our motivation! –S.R.

New Author Struggles #2
I think that as an Indie Author you
have to learn how to do several things on your own. I know that at least I have had learn a great
deal and not just by doing it myself but from other authors as well. I think that one of the best things that you
can get is others advice.
Now I’m not saying to take everyone’s advice and go
with it, no. But if you’re really unsure about something then I would say that
is a good time to get other authors or readers opinion. It really helps.
Learning the
hard way is never fun but you do learn.
When you are writing your book then promoting and doing all of that extra work
after is published, you are bound to make a mistake somewhere but at least you
will know next time what you should and shouldn't do.
To me
becoming an author takes a lot of work and if you're thinking that this is a
piece of cake, then something isn't right (and I want to know your secret!).
Anyway,
these are my thoughts for today. -S.R.

Dark Night Giveaway + First Blog Post of 2015!
Congratulations to Sandra Lam from
Canada, winner of a signed copy of Dark Night! Woo!!!
That being
said, today’s blog post is going to be about running contest, giveaways, and/or
promos.
I've had a
few giveaways at this point and have to say that depending on what the prize is
you might not get the results you are looking for. You want to make sure that
you are not giving away something that has nothing to do with your book, like
for example a T.V. Though I doubt anyone would do such a thing, still there are
people out there that would give away something BIG.
For my
giveaway, I did something cliched but in my opinion is one of the best options
you have which is a free signed copy of your own book. By doing this you know
for sure who out there, really wants to read you work and is more than happy to
enter and subscribe for your newsletters.
Remember
that you want people to know who you are and what you do, not by what item you
are going to give away next but by your work! –S.R.
